# 4.3.2 Aerodrome environment

Formal title · GM to Regulation (EU) 2017/373 · EAR revision 26 Jan 2026

IR Implementing rule

## 4.3.2 Aerodrome environment

Since each aerodrome is unique and has its own characteristics regarding the surrounding topography, it is important to take into account the specific aspects that may affect the implementation of the concept, as would be the case also when implementing a new [conventional tower](https://avioverse.aero/glossary/easa/conventional-tower) at an aerodrome. Furthermore, natural phenomena and the local wildlife characteristics (e.g. the occurrence of animals/birds on and in the vicinity of the aerodrome) are also factors that should be considered for each aerodrome. In addition, the implementation of [remote aerodrome ATS](https://avioverse.aero/glossary/easa/remote-aerodrome-ats) should consider and appropriately address the existence of environmental restrictions which could influence the operations of the subject aerodromes.
