# 4.2.5 Recommended implementation and transition steps

Formal title · GM to Regulation (EU) 2017/373 · EAR revision 26 Jan 2026

IR Implementing rule

## 4.2.5 Recommended implementation and transition steps

It is likely that [multiple mode of operation](https://avioverse.aero/glossary/easa/multiple-mode-of-operation) will be implemented as part of an extension to an already existing [single mode of operation](https://avioverse.aero/glossary/easa/single-mode-of-operation) implementation. This would facilitate the transition from a onetoone operating method to a one-to-many operating method by first gaining operational experience of [remote aerodrome ATS](https://avioverse.aero/glossary/easa/remote-aerodrome-ats) in a single mode of operation set-up. Therefore, such an approach is recommended. However, depending on the local safety assessment, this may not be a prerequisite for implementation.
