## GM11 Annex I Definitions

PUBLIC INTEREST SITE

An example of a public interest sites is a landing site based at a hospital located in a [hostile environment](https://avioverse.aero/glossary/easa/hostile-environment) in a [congested area](https://avioverse.aero/glossary/easa/congested-area), which due to its size or obstacle environment does not allow the application of performance class 1 requirements that would otherwise be required for operations in a congested hostile environment.
